Writing for Transformation: an online course
This winter, The Loft Literary Center will once again be hosting my Writing for Transformation class! The will run from January 22nd-March 18th, 2020.
Here is the course description:
Writers and poets of all levels and genres are invited to participate in this eight-week class! Together, we will begin to transmute our inner conflicts and blocks through creative expression!
This class fuses elements of yogic philosophy and depth psychology with creative writing practice. Based on the needs of the group, we will spend varying amounts of time doing the following:
~exploring sense of self, fear, aversion, and desire
~drawing inspiration from other writers whose work sparked personal and collective transformation
~exploring emerging questions and interests
~breaking through old limits and/or trying something new
Prompts are appropriate for all genres of writing, including poetry, prose, hybrid forms, and journaling. Students may choose to share excerpts of their work with each other during the week via Google Docs. Peer feedback/critique will be optional. Students will also have the option of more deeply delving into a piece written in earlier weeks to revise and refine it by the end of the class *or* continuing to develop fresh writing.
If you are interested in registering, please visit the Loft’s website.
